Affiliate selling

Making money with your website

Affiliate schemes -make money with your web site:

Once you reach, say, 200 or more visitors per day then you can look at making money with your website using affiliate agreements. This is done by either getting commission on sales, or by click-throughs where you are paid a small amount for each visitor you send to the linked site. It is generally only successful when you have enough traffic and when your affiliate links are related to your site content.

There are people making thousands of dollars per month, however don't expect to get rich overnight. It takes patience, time and effort to get to a significant level of traffic. look at other examples of websites and you will see how important this is especially for books and posters, travel, recruitment and mail order shopping.

Good luck!

Some affiliate schemes for UK websites:

Affiliate Future -UK based affiliate programmes, well organised by category, with options for deep feed product display. Merchants include Singapore Airlines, Langhale Gardens, Facewest, Cucina Direct and many more. Strong on fashion and clothing.

Affiliate Window -large range of UK merchants, including Lloyds TSB, B&Q, Oddbins and Dominoes Pizza.

Afinity Arc -UK based programmes including Appliance Direct and World Gallery

AllPosters-one of the original and still most profitable schemes. Now sells in a variety of currencies including pounds sterling. 25% commission on poster sales. Commission not paid until $100 threshold reached. Not suitable for all sites but very good if you have an art, architecture or music interest website. Pays commission on purchases up to 10 days after the initial visit and is a great way to add interesting images to a site.

Amazon.co.uk (UK) or Amazon.com (USA) -the original affiliate scheme that has resulted in the daddy of all booksellers -they now sell much more than just books, with sites in a number of countries.

ClixGalore Affiliate Networks -US and UK agency. Large number of programmes on a sale, lead or pay per click basis. Unfortunately the UK programmes tend not to be well known companies on the whole.

Commission Junction-large number of programmes, mostly US but a good selection of UK and European merchants too. Not easy to do individual page links, but made up for by the ability to hide link code in favour of the main URL the visitor is heading to.

UKaffiliates.com -DGM2 -UK based programme with simple interface.

JoJaffa -earn cash for property ebook referrals. Small range but surprisingly effective programme.

OMG -newer programme specialising in the lucrative financial sector with such names as Alliance and Leicester, Barclaycard, Norwich Union and Swinton.

Paid On Results -UK based affiliate scheme with a simple interface and a range of merchants.

Tradedoubler -very extensive list of UK merchants, including well known names such as KLM, Air France, Heals, John Lewis, B&Q and Direct Line ......... also runs schemes for a number of other European countries.
